Clinton N'Jie, Suso, Gael Kakuta and other Premier League flops impressing in Europe

N’Jie has really kicked into gear since making his loan deal with Marseille a permanent move over the summer. Signed by Spurs in the summer of 2015, N’Jie’s time in north London was a failure – though a medial ligament injury didn’t help the winger to adapt to England. The 24-year-old managed to make just 14 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites, failing to score and registering only one assist. He spent last term at Marseille and played a steady season (four goals, one assist), but has burst to life in 2017/18 having signed permanently for l’OM over the summer. The Cameroon international has already scored five goals in as many games, and looks to be going from strength to strength.

Clinton N’Jie has been making a name for himself with Marseille this season.

N’Jie, the Cameroon winger, signed a permanent deal with l’OM over the summer having spent last term with the club on a loan deal from Spurs, and he has scored an impressive five goals in as many Ligue 1 games since the start of 2017/18.

This is the kind of form Tottenham wanted from the forward, now 24, when they signed him from Lyon in the summer of 2015.

Instead, they got a player who contributed little, and spent a large part of his lone season in north London out injured.

N’Jie is just one Premier League flop who is now impressing abroad, and talkSPORT.com has taken a look at other players doing exactly the same – see who features by clicking the arrow above, right.
